White flowers

Simple white flowers and the world makes sense again. Does that make sense to you, dear reader? There is something about buying or getting flowers that makes me happy. Perhaps because it feels so special and brings a happy vibe into your home.

Garden party (European style)

Any excuse for a party, right? Especially in summer when you can set everthing up in the garden or the park. I am partial to the paper pompoms floating above the table (and would keep them for further use indoors). Have you ever had a party in a public park? We've had our fair share of them. One year we went out to Parc de Sceaux with all our goodies in tow (including champagne, of course!) to eat under the cherry blossoms.

Macaron day

Photo: Pinterest

Today we have 28C in Paris so sitting in front of the computer is less desirable than going to the park and eating ice cream or macarons. Not that yours truly needs any reason to eat macarons, especially if one walks past a certain famous macaron place a lot.

Collecting stuff

Collecting stuff is fun and decorating it at home is even more fun (at least for those of us who read design blogs). What do you collect and how do you showcase it at home? Do you 'rotate' your stuff, displaying your latest acqusitions or favourites.

Today is a humor-free zone here at European Chic - ok, just kidding... I like this poster. No, seriously, tell me your April's fool story. What has happened to you or what have you planned this year? Today, dear readers, I want to live vicariously through you!

Bauhaus for dogs

Ever since my beloved dog died in late November there has been an empty spot (dog owners understand the pain of losing your dog) but now I am thinking of adopting a new dog. If I had a garden I would want to have this ultra modern Bauhaus dog house! Talk about light and airy and yet city chic.

European Chic goes to .... Kanataka & Kerala, India

Finally, I had a moment to sort through my India photos of my recent trip and post a few. Everything is so beautiful that it is difficult not to overdo it and attempting to post 'all' photos. I was travelling in india during Diwali, a three day celebration. The food was amazing and I could have bought every single scarf and sari I saw. The patterns really do it for me.

Check out also the photos from my last India trip to Northern India!

P.S. On a personal note; my beloved dog - European Chic's muse - died.

This year I decided to embrace every season! So here is to rain! Incidentally a great season to read books. What are you reading, dear readers? I've started on Herta Müller, winner of the 2009 Nobel prize.

European Chic goes to .... Beijing, China

It is good to be back in Paris but my trip to China was amazing. I loved the food, the people, the architecture, the ancient history, well, everything. Here are a couple of imrepssions from the forbidden city, the great wall, the buddha temple, etc.
The last photo is rather strange, isn't it? It was the sign on my hotel door.
