Spanish Waterdog news

Photo: European Chic

Our beloved Spanish Waterdog. He loves to travel and feels right at home in friend's houses, trains, buses, or hotels. If you throw in a bone he keeps busy for hours (starting in the shop where we bought it as you can see above).

Swiss Impressions I

Hey! I managed to squeeze in yet another trip before christmas, this time to Geneva, Switzerland for a few days. The formemost reason was - of course - to stock up on Swiss chocolate. Swiss chocolate is the best in the world in my humble opinion. Oh, and to eat delicious cheese fondue with my friends. (I spare you the photos because it is way too 'Asterix'.)

The flag of Geneva on the city walls (where the brave citizens defeated the French)

I do like to take photos of lions, don't I?

 There was music and celebration.

Cat & Design

Photo: European Chic (A graffitto cat in Paris)

There are cat persons and there are dog persons and then there are people like me; I love both cats and dogs. In fact we are so tolerant here at European Chic and embrace diversity that even our dog likes cats, although they don't tend to like him. Hey, you cannot force friendships!
So, today I am doing a post on cat design as a sister guide to my Dog & Design guide which I published in August 2010.

German Impressions III

I recieved a letter from a reader in Australia, J., who misses Germany and France very much. She told me that she gets her 'fix' of Europe via my blog so today's 'Impressions..' from the Christmas market in Stuttgart (home of a certain German car manufacturer) is for her.
Don't forget to check out my posts on the Christmas market in Hamburg, and the Swedish Christmas market in Paris.

There was so much snow in Stuttgart that most flights were cancelled but our plane was luckily only delayed for about 45 minutes. When the flight attended announced that it was -12C outside I thought I misunderstood him somehow but I didn't.

The roofs of the stalls are all individually decorated. There is even an annual competition choosing the most beautiful roof.
