Scandinavian shabby chic

We haven't looked at a Swedish house for a while, so today I discovered this jewel of a house. Simple shabby chic! The house in central Angelholm, Sweden, is from 1935, and features the most darling windows and tiled fireplace (Can I ever get enough of Swedish fireplaces? Ok, it's a rhetoric question.). I like the contrasting texture used in the decorating scheme of shiny mercury glass and weaved baskets.

You didn't have enough yet? Check out this pad and this one.

  1. I love it when the wood gets old and it looks rusted! It gives the piece of furniture so much more life and character. Thanks so much for your lovely comment!

  4. Hi ~ I love to paint shabby chic furniture but yet really dream of living in a loft someday where the style is somehow combined. I really enjoy your blog on both of these styles.
