Cute breakfast place

Photo: Wohnidee

I can see myself having a casual breakfast here. I like the random display of postcards. Maybe I'll start a collage above my breakfast table, too. For now it is only a blank wall.

I also want to share a video of an art performance that took place in Berlin, Germany. I hope you like it as much as I did!

An inspired interior

o

Ever since this house was featured in the print edition of Côté Sud here in France I wanted to share it on European Chic but you know how it goes: First you have to wait until it appears on their internet site and then you have to remember, etc. Anyway, I digress, I heart this house, a former maison vigneronne in the French countryside abandoned for decades before it was lovingly restored.
The owners did a great job keeping the old features of the house, the exposed brick walls, old wooden beams and stone floors and adding modern elements such as the hypermodern staircase* and the wavy cement ceiling in the kitchen. The muted colour palate with sand colours, light blue, greens, greys and pinks as well as the edited collection of modern and antique furniture is simply perfect. This house is sensual and functional.

Here is wishing everybody a wonderful sunny weekend!

*Admittedly, not kid-friendly without railings...

Decorating your desk

Photo: Boligmagasinet.dk

I like this pretty vignette. This workspace looks relaxed and effortless. Exactly what one should aim for in a workspace. In fact, doing your taxes here could possibly be ok.

Check out more cool workspaces here.

I've bought the recently published book 'Decorate' yesterday in London (still browsing) and I'd love to hear your opinion about the book!

Book tree

Here is your chance to turn your living room into a forrest where your books become the leaves of a tree. (The young man is optional.) The shelves are designed by French artisan designer Oliver Dollés who is based in Paris. I've seen them and they are very well made.

Stylish sisters!

Two extraordinary stylish sisters call this Roman abode their home and studio. This place gives such a happy, bohemian vibe. I wnat the napolitan tiles in the kitchen, a day bed in a veranda (yeah, dream on in Paris, Anna), and the regal looking doors in the image above. Oh, and the garden in central Rome nonetheless. Did I forget anything?

Semikolon stationery

Semikolon stationery from Germany is pure, colourful and classic! They sell their products in virtually every colour imaginable which is great for mixing and matching. I love their boxes which come in numerous sizes. They would fit very nicely on my desk and could hold all my stuff (hint, hint).

If you can think of a stationery line from your country which we should know about please to share in the comments section or email me about it.

The case for a porch

Photo: Maison Interior Norway

A beautiful Scandinavian porch I just had to share with you! I expect Pippi Longstocking, my childhood hero, to appear on this porch any minute now. Go on, Pippi, where are you?

A minimalist and cosy convent

A German designer found this former convent 40 minutes away from Milano and transformed it into the most darling studio/home while keeping the original austere character. There is so much texture in the house. Imagine living in a former convent! I think that is pretty romantic (a convent or living on a boat - it is a tie!).

Drop-dead gorgeous spiral staircase

Photo: source unknown

You all know how obsessed I am about spiral staircases, right? Isn't this one a beauty? Moreover, the turquoise walls and matching gown are simply drop-dead gorgeous.
