Advent & glögg

Hello! How are you? Today is the first Advent. To get ourselves into the spirit of the festive season we visited the cute Swedish Christmas market at the Swedish church in the 17th arrondissement.

...of course, we did not forget to warm up with Swedish glögg. It's dangerous stuff because it is yummy. I say 'No Christmas without glögg!'

Pure escapism

I am in denial. They predicted snow in Paris tonight so I did what every sane person would do and plotted my escape. What are you all thinking of this hotel, Hotel Mystique, on the beautiful island of Santorini, Greece? I have been to numerous Greek islands over the years but never Santorini for some unexplicable reason.

A northern winter home

Christmas is exactly one month away, dear readers.

Oh boy, do I love winter when I look at this home? Certainly. So cosy and calm. Feels straight out of an Astrid Lindgren novel. Either Pippi Longstocking (because of the porch, although her house is more colourful if I remember correctly) or the Bullerbü series (even if the houses were red in the book).

The house was built in 1892 and the ceilings are up to 7.5 meters high. I wonder what the heating bill is like but it looks amazing. I also love the Swedish bench in the living room. I think such a gustavian bench works in almost any decor.

After seeing this house I want snow, too, except it never looks white and pristine in Paris. So I better go to Chamonix.

A (Parisian) dog life

Oh, dear, what a stylish life for a dog! If you and your dog stay in the elegant Hôtel Le Meurice in Paris the dog (and you) get the royal treatment: A personalised engraved dog tag, walks in the Tuileries next door, and the use of  'Sofa O’, an egg shaped sofa designed by Brigitte Mettra, the founder of  pet boutique 'La Favorite'. One night stay sets you back a mere 665 - 3950 euros (starting price, without breakfast, of course).

Cool work spaces

The cooler your work space the more work you get done, right? Well, so far the theory I (want to) believe in. Decorating a work space is one of my favourite tasks. I just redecorated mine so here are a few inspirations I want to share with you.
