Buddha in Lisbon

A boutique hotel in in a restored late XVIII century building in downtown Lisbon, designed by Portuguese architect and decorator Miguel Câncio Martins of Buddha bar (Paris) fame. I think the Hotel Heritage Av. Liberdade conveys a luxurious yet cosy feeling. I am quite keen on the wallpaper in the lobby.

Eclectic style

Here are a couple of adjectives that pop into my head when viewing this flat in Rome: breathtaking; eclectic; beautiful; ethnic; crazy;... I especially dig the Chinese inspired bedroom.

Storage solutions I

A couple of practical ideas for those of us blessed with what I like to call a ´compact´ home. I´ll post more ideas soon.

Photo: Living etc.
Take photos of your shoes and make it part of the design.

Great way to show off your pretty coffee table books and hide tattered books.

Photo: Living at Home
Putting the sofa in the corner frees up wall space and a triangle shaped box gives additional storage.

Photo: Wohnwelt
The nightstand doubles as storage.

A fun way to store coats and bags. You can easily recreated this look.

P.S. Check out more storage solutions here!

Bethge Hamburg in Germany has a carefully curated collection of luxury stationary and accessories. The company even has their own atelier where many items are still handmade. Its nice to be surounded with beautiful objects in your everyday life.

Mosaic

All photos: Mosaic del Sur

Floors can make or break a room. I recently discovered the Spanish tile facory Mosaic del Sur which manufactures traditional and contemporary cement floor tiles in over 800 designs or lets you design your own tiles using the online mosaic simluator. It was hard to pick a few examples as I would have liked to show them all.

Gotländska paradis

My friend L. asked me to feature Sweden on this blog, and since I take customer satisfaction seriously (I know, an oxymoron in Europe.) and I am very fond of Sweden I found a lovely Swedish summer house. Its simple and relaxed - perfect for summer!

Pigalle, mon amour

A wonderful home of a French-Italian couple in the middle of Paris´ red light district Pigalle. Lots of personal touches without being cluttered. What works for me here is that the design is at the same time feminine and masculine. I have major bath tub envy!
