Glamorous Hamstead Heath pad

Hi there! A glamorous semi-detached villa from Hampstead Heath, London, caught my fancy this sunny morning.

What a yummy chair! Very glamorous!

I like the idea of having each chair upholstered in a different fabric. It's fun and playful.

A chic grey staircase with great lamps.

Now, is this a FUNtastic kid's room, or what? It belongs to the 11 year old daughter of the owners. Gotta love the bubble chair. I want to play there.

The lower kitchen cabinets used to be display cases in an Oxford museum. How cool is that?!

A chic and glamorous bathroom.

Guerrilla girls

Today we honour Women's Day with the Guerrilla Girls initiative to raise awareness of gender imbalances in art. The Guerrilla Girls fight discrimination with facts, humor and fake fur. Thanks to my friend Y. for introducing me to the Guerrilla Girls.

Grey + orange

Orange and grey is such a great combination! It's calming and uplifting. The shelfs and low hanging lamps are übercool.
Have a great week, everybody! As always, comments are very much appreciated.

Le gare-maison

I like the idea of using a building for several different purposes during its lifespan, so this transformed train station appealed to me instantly. The owners managed to keep a balance in turning it into a cosy family home and keeping some of the original elements of the former station.

Would you like to live in a former station or any other converted building? Remember this post?

Sleepless in Vienna

Welcome to Vienna! Capital of Austria, great coffee houses, art nouveau architecture, the United Nations, and lots of famous musicians ranging from Mozart to Kruder & Dorfmeister.

The DO&CO Design hotel is architecturally adventurous and located in the very centre of Vienna. Imagine a summer evening at the bar on the 7th floor overlooking the city.
Since Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe I added a few photos of Vienna from Flickr.

German Impressions VII

We visited the beautiful city of Heidelberg in Germany, seat of one of the oldest universities in the world. I had promised to my favourite Australian reader J. that I would take photos.
As you can see it was a glorious winter day: sunny and crisp and there were people from all over the world up and about. In fact, it was as cosmopolitan as in downtown Paris (if this is a valid comparison), also due to the U.S. armed forces which are still present in the area.
Have you been to Heidelberg? I can highly recommend it.

The old castle overlooking the city and the river.

These cakes were offered everywhere and very yummy! I must look for a recepies online.
