Stroke of genius

My dears, where in Europe do you think this garden is located? Honestly. And if you can guess who lives here you get extra brownie points. (The post title is a hint).

Ok, let me show you a couple more photos.

Did you guess? The flat is located in the center of Paris, in the trendy Marais. If you live in Paris like me you know how rare it is to find a spacious flat with an outdoor space. The owner is a great niece of Albert Einstein. Isn't the garden lovely?  I think the plastic covered hayballs are pretty cool. And the mirrors? And the cast iron staircase? I love them all.

White dreams

The colour white is always fresh, bright and versatile! Let's have a look at a couple of white interiors. Remember the (affordable!) white designer hotel in Brussels I blogged about a few weeks ago? Check it out here.

In this Italian kitchen the stainless steel counters are hidden behind transparent curtains. The traditional terrazzo floor looks very modern in this interior.

A shabby chic conservatory in white and light grey colours. Aren't the white penchant lamps gorgeous?

The blue floor emphasize the crisp white of the room.

An eclectic bathroom with modern and antique features. Who doesn't want a fireplace in their bathroom.

A banquet styled with IKEA items. Impressive! The lamps float beautifully in the large space.

Friends of friends = my friends

I am really excited about showing you my friend´s flat in Berlin. Not a friend of a friend but my friend,  a former stylist turned boutique owner. I love absolutely everything about this spacious bohemian chic flat. The structure (high ceilings, hardwood floor, molding), the colour scheme and the furnitures and objects. Being Parisian I also appreciate the 'french' touch. The space is so clean and calm. The his´n´her shelves in the living room are a lovely touch filled with cool and playful objects. Isn´t the sewing room great? Makes me want to start sewing.

Look what I found on via di Campo Marzio

The other day I walked past Campo Marzio on - you guessed it - via di Campo Marzio in Rome. What colourful writing accessories can be found here! I am afraid that the images here do not do justice to the leathercoated baskets, notebooks, trays, and pens. Luckily they have shops all over the world.

Merci

All photos: European Chic

Merci in Paris is an amazing design store selling furntiture, kitchenware, jewellry, designer clothes for adults and children, perfume, stationary (yay!), and used books. There are also two lovely cafes and a restaurant. Merci is located in a beautifully renevated old industrial space. The best thing is that all profits are given to charity in Madagaskar. Think of it as a bobo third world store. Here you can indulge in design AND feel like you are contributing to a worthy cause.
