Swiss Impressions II

More photos from Geneva, Switzerland. This time from a European Chic reader, E. from Canada, who went to Switzerland at around the same time I did but with a much better camera.

 ...and goodbye Switzerland!

Cool Cologne flat

Hallway

A cool and colorful Cologne flat because beige is boooring. This flat is home to a German actress and her 10-year old daughter. The inspiration was Romania. (Which reminds me; has anyone seen Gadjo Dillo, a French movie? Great sets and soundtrack.) The flat has fantastic bones and lots of pops of bohemian colour sprinkled throughout.

 Grandiose entrance

Kitchen in turquoise and yellow paired with Moroccan tiles and stainless steel kitchen units.

 Bohemian living room

 A handmade 'tutu' lamp

Tons of bookshelf's housing an impressive collection of books

 The red balcony is cosy

 A green master bedroom

 En suite bath tub

 The child's room

Ice hotels

How is everybody? Did you recover from the festivities and ready to indulge in more European design?

I've been turning north these last few days browsing ice hotels in Sweden and Norway. Here is an edited collection of my favourite photos from the flickr ice hotel group.

P.S. Check out also this post.

Has anyone been to an ice hotel? How was it? I think the photos are amazing (from the cosy confines of my sofa here in Paris...). Who knew that one could be so creative with ice? I read that tons of artists apply every year to design a part of the hotel which - obviously - has to be rebuilt each winter.

Spanish Waterdog news

Photo: European Chic

Our beloved Spanish Waterdog. He loves to travel and feels right at home in friend's houses, trains, buses, or hotels. If you throw in a bone he keeps busy for hours (starting in the shop where we bought it as you can see above).

My 'royal' bed

I am lazy today and wished I could lounge in this 'royal' bed. I hope you are all having a great time!
