Old-fashioned European salon

For me, this is a typical example of a 19th century bourgeois salon. Dark and muted colours, lots of paintings on the wall, a tasseled table cloth and velvet upholstered chairs.

Can you imagine living here? What elements do you like, and could see being used in a more contemporary setting?

    I love this livingroom, my goodness it is so beautiful, and yes it is a kind of dark, bus I like that,it gives a safe felling, thanks for sharing this
