The artist libary

Photograph: Katherine Rose

This is the the library of sculptor Marc Quinn's London studio. The colourful book spines really pop in the otherwise all white room. On the left you can see a plaster cast of the life cast of William Blake that's in the National Portrait Gallery.

An exotic garden

I like to relax in Monaco´s Le Jardin Exotique. The garden gives a magnificent sea view. The succulent plants always bloom when I visit  and it has a cave that descends nearly to sea level.

Pink!

The sky is grey and I dream pink dreams. A light powder pink, flamingo pink, exotic pink... there is so much variation. I think pink can lighten up a room that is too ´serious´ and make the room feel more ´dynamic´.

A trendy kitchen. The wood table works great with the baby pink.

A sweet pink rug with blue birds.

Wallpaper from one of my favourite German online stores.

A chinese inspired side table.

Pink stripes and dots.

A transformed former crack den

All photos: Platform 5 Architects LLP

This award winning house, a former crack den in a sorry state with all original features destroyed, is located in Hackney, London. The architect couple opened up the two front reception rooms, and transformed and expanded the narrow kitchen space at the back with a glass roof. I love the glass box window seat - a great place to watch someone (not me!) prepare a meal.
