Notting Hill beauty

 Retro design with pops of deep purple hue. I can't think of anything better. Is this house a beauty, or what? The kitchen is professionally equipped and has great lamps (I just saw similar ones at Merci here in Paris with cords in different retro colours). The bathroom manages to give off an old fashioned vibe whilst being clean and modern at the same time.

Norwegian Impressions I

Today has been such a lovely sunny day that we had to spent the day outside strolling though Paris so that I only got to blog now. For contrast I wanted to take a virtual tour in Norway. This pretty Norwegian church above caught my fancy when I was browsing the web.

Madrid shows her stylish side

I (heart) this Madrid flat. It is airy with pops of colours. Orange is the colour of choice for accents in the living room and charcoal black in the bathroom. OK, and who doesn't want to have a relaxing bath in this magnicifent tub? The open kithen looks very classy with the turquoise backsplash and the oversized lamp.

When I saw this photo I thought: You can mix' n' match your chairs and sofa syles and still obtain a cohesive glamourous look.

Remembrances of Russia & Lithuania

I was invited to a costume party last week and one costume I considerd was to go as 'Anna Karenina'. During my research for outfit ideas I really got into Russian 'old world' decor so I found these sumptuous overstuffed interiors by Alexandre Vassiliev, an international costume and set designer based in Paris,  who decorated his 1950s apartment in Moscow and a 1913 dacha in Vilnius, Lithuania, with a studied eye to the past. I think they evoke a csarist Russia.

A sunny house

A 'palazzina' in a hip Milanese neighbourhood stretching over four floors, the top floor being a conservatory. Highlights include the stainless steel kitchen and the round window in the floor of the music room (imagine having a music room!?). The glass from on the ground floor gives the allusion that the inside and outside are one seamless space.
